Meet Luna

Luna is a gentle 4-year-old pure-bred Old English Sheepdog, a loving soul who truly shines in a calm, settled home.
She is a beautifully mannered girl who wants nothing more than to be close to her people, sharing quiet companionship, cuddles, and peaceful walks.

In the home, Luna is incredibly easy to live with. She settles quickly, is well behaved, and happily relaxes wherever you are, although she does have a soft spot for cosy blankets and her bed. She will happily snuggle on your lap for extra cuddles.

Life at Home

Luna can be left for a couple of hours with no issues and sleeps soundly through the night.
She is fully house-trained and will let you know when she needs to go out by standing at the door or by her lead.

She eats well without being greedy, enjoys treats, and has had no tummy troubles.
She’s calm around food and will happily lie down if asked while you’re eating.

Luna doesn’t go upstairs and is quite content keeping to ground level living.

Out and About

Luna is a dream in the car; she gets in by herself, settles immediately, and travels calmly.

She walks beautifully on the lead and has excellent recall on a long line, where she loves to explore, sniff, and enjoy the occasional joyful zoomie.
She may pull a little on the way back to the car once she’s had enough, but responds immediately if asked to stop and wait.

She enjoys simple, peaceful walks and will clearly let you know when she’s ready to head home.

She is hesitant around strangers and some dogs, but with patience is growing in confidence.

People, Dogs & Handling

Luna has made wonderful progress with people and other dogs.
She is much calmer now, and while she may still bark or grumble at times, her anxiety has reduced significantly, and she is easily redirected with a gentle cue like “come this way”.

With new people, Luna prefers a slow, respectful approach. She will happily sniff and say hello when not pressured, but will step away if fussed over too quickly. With time and understanding, her confidence continues to grow.

She is patient and relaxed with her harness and stands calmly for brushing and general handling.

At the vet;

Luna was an absolute star, walking in confidently, remaining calm throughout her examination, and allowing treatment without fuss. She takes medication beautifully and allows ear cleaning with no issues.

Grooming;

Luna likes to be brushed, especially if you let her play in between, brushing for a few moments at a time. She will let you clean her eyes and trim around them. Luna hasn’t been to the groomers in foster as yet, but as soon as she does, an update will be provided.

Play & Personality

Luna isn’t overly playful, but with gentle encouragement, she will happily join in, often ending in some very entertaining zoomies. She loves her zoomies in the park, especially if you join in.
She has a few favourite toys and loves a good chew or bone.

She only barks if someone unfamiliar passes by, never for attention or food.

Above all else, Luna is affectionate, devoted, and deeply loving.

Luna’s Ideal Home

Luna would thrive in:

· A calm, understanding home

· A secure garden

· Gentle country or quiet walks

· Patient adopters who will continue to build her confidence with people and dogs

· Luna could be an only dog or potentially with a calm, similar sized companion, with careful management.

· Lots of cuddles

We’d prefer Luna to be rehomed in the North or Northwest, ideally up to Scotland for ongoing support, but finding the right home is our top priority.

She doesn’t need a busy lifestyle, just love, reassurance, and consistency.
